The UBX Professional League inaugural season kicks off in Summer 2025 with Eight North American teams.
Toronto, ON – UBX World Corporation is proud to announce the launch of the UBX Professional Badminton League, the first professional badminton league in North America. Featuring Badminton World Federation (BWF) top-ranked players from around the world. UBX Professional League is a ground-breaking professional badminton league designed to engage, entertain, and showcase excellence in the sport. The inaugural season will be hosted in North America in Summer 2025, with other stops on the UBX Global League Tour to be announced.
With eight teams (four in the US and four in Canada), UBX Professional Badminton League is ushering in a new era of badminton designed to support professional athletes in the sport – the way they train, the way they play, and the way they work. Badminton is the fifth most popular sport in the world with 709 million fans and boasts the fastest-moving object in all sports, the shuttlecock (birdie), with a record speed 565 km/hour. Despite its popularity, badminton has yet to be given a platform to showcase its entertainment value to a North American broadcast audience.
UBX World Corporation has partnered with the World’s #1 ranked player, Danish-born Viktor Axelsen (2017 and 2022 World champion, 2020 Olympic champion, and three-time European champion) as a beacon of excellence meant to inspire and to raise the profile of the sport in North America.
